Wool has been used for making socks for many years – soft, hard-wearing and warm.
Sock knitting is also very, very addictive!
We will make a sock on double pointed needles to learn the techniques used for shaping and making a basic top-down sock with turned heel and kitchener stitch toe.
On a course which takes place over 3 weeks, we will make a full-sized sock (or a pair, if you do extra homework!)
On day long workshops we will make a single miniature sock using exactly the same principles.
Whichever you choose, you will take home patterns for both the adult and mini sock, and you will have learnt the techniques you need to know to make your next pair, whatever size you need!
Courses cost £40 and include: Patterns, yarn, knitting needles and refreshments. If coming for the full day please bring a packed lunch.
Prerequisites: You should be able to knit and purl stitches before you come. It may be possible to arrange a prior session before you start, please ask.
