Description
Wool has been used for making socks for many years – soft, hard-wearing and warm.
Sock knitting is also very, very addictive!
We will make a sock on double pointed needles to learn the techniques used for shaping and making a basic top-down sock with turned heel and kitchener stitch toe.
On a course which takes place over 3 weeks, we will make a full-sized sock (or a pair, if you do extra homework!)
At the end of the course, you will have learnt the techniques you need to know to make your next pair, whether for yourself or someone special!
Price includes patterns, yarn, knitting needles and refreshments.
Prerequisites: You should be able to knit and purl stitches before you come. It may be possible to arrange a prior session before you start, please ask.
Groups are small (max. 8 people) so there is always time for questions and individual help and encouragement.
Classes are held in the Textile Studio at Oxheys Mill Studios, Stanhope Street, Preston PR1 7PN (10 mins from UCLan, close to Preston Bus no. 31 and 23)
Dates: 12.20 – 2.30pm Fridays 14th, 21st, 28th April
