Description

I normally work with circles, spirals and organic shapes, but the day I made this I felt bold and brave. There were quite a few misses, but be honest, but actually this one turned out great!

I like the retro feeling colours, rough brayering, the shadows in the background, and the handcut stamped shapes which aren’t quite triangular, or straight!

I use a gel plate for printing. This is a soft, squidgy plate which I roll ink or paint onto before using found objects, my own handcut stencils, and various other objects to add shapes or textures. Prints are usually built up in layers, with the lightest first, and some of my prints can have 7 to 10 layers. Printmakers call this process monoprinting – because there is only ever one.

This print is made using a high quality inkjet printer using top quality ink onto white card. This makes them easy for me to produce and affordable for you. If you would like an art quality print, or to commission an original, please contact me.

Unless otherwise stated, my A4 prints are signed and come with a white mount and backing board. You just need a 12″ x 16″ frame to complete it.

Having a bit of a spin. I don't make nice even yarn - I don't have the attention span for that - so I add bumpy bits and slubs to my yarn, and change colour frequently. It makes it a surprise when I ply.

Lovely weather so I've done most of it outside, listening to the birds.
