Caroline is a mixed media artist in leafy Penwortham, close to the heart of Lancashire.

As a child, Caroline was part of a very creative family, and worked her way along the craft shelf of the library. She remembers learning to crochet granny squares with her Nan and Great Grandma, and is delighted to have passed this knowledge on to many others.

As a mature student, Caroline studied computing at degree level and she is fascinated by the intersection of science, technology and art (STEAM subjects would be her dream job!)

She has a background in fibre arts, and one of her favourite activities is to process raw fleece – time consuming but wonderful to follow the process right the way through.

As she works intuitively, Caroline follows whatever creative thread seems to make sense each day. She explores a variety of mediums, including watercolour paint, ink sketching, gell printing, and textile and fibre arts and crafts. Through these mediums, Caroline seeks to capture the harmony between humans and nature, where sustainability is key.

Many of her projects are community-based, or have in interactive element, and Caroline remains a core member of Oxheys, a peripatetic art group previously based at Oxheys Mill Studios, to deliver arts activities in a fun way across the community.
